Everyone must enjoy our beautiful Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (where we’re based) safely and responsibly. Today, local police had to step in to stop a couple of fishermen who wanted to fish on the beach near swimmers. We want to remind you that fishing is not allowed in areas designated for swimmers. You must always walk away from these areas to practice recreational fishing. By following these rules, you ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone at the beach.
Always check where you’re allowed to fish and the timetable. Finishing from most beaches in mainland Spain after the summer is fine. In the Canaries, it’s summer almost the whole year, so don’t fish on the beach from the sandy areas. These “bright” lads only needed to walk for two minutes towards the rocky areas and nothing would have happened. Image credit: @PoliciaLPA
