Fishing in Tenerife is great fun, especially at night. You can fish different kinds of fish, that don’t show up during the day. Also, the quantity of fish is more in the evening. This video, from the local Canary Islands government channel (RTVC), shows how families go fishing at night, and what they fish. The fishermen arrived at 6 p.m. and the TV station did a live programme 3 hours later. The man in the yellow jacket was the only one who wasn’t lucky.
What did they fish?:
- Sargo (White seabream)
- Boga (kind of a headstander)
- Herring sardines
Nearby the Puerto de Poris, in the south of Tenerife, where the video is shot, is a restaurant managed by a family (2 sisters, 1 brother). The sisters proudly displayed their paella dish, which they were going to distribute to all the fishermen.
Enjoy the video!
